Outside Sales Representative

We have partnered with a highly regarded manufacturer in the lumber/outdoor living space to identify an Outside Sales Representative. This salesperson would step into an established territory covering Central Tennessee and Southern Kentucky and is a great role for someone who can grow business with lumberyards, dealers, and other building materials customers across the territory. The position comes with solid base salary, generous quarterly bonus, profit sharing, and a company vehicle. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of successful territory growth in the building materials space.

What You'll Do

• Call on existing and prospective customers through in-person visits and phone outreach to qualify leads and sell products/services
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships while growing share of wallet within the territory
• Identify and report new sales opportunities with new customers and/or new product lines
• Handle technical and business objections from prospective customers
• Quote prices and terms, prepare sales orders, and help estimate delivery timing based on production and shipping schedules
• Keep customer account activity and sales literature up to date, prepare reports, and participate in sales meetings
• Investigate and resolve customer problems or claims and attend customer functions or special events

What You'll Need

• Bachelors degree and/or related experience in treated lumber, lumber, building materials, or building supplies
• Ability to work a territory independently and handle both account management and hunting
• Ability to build credibility with dealers, lumberyards, and contractor-focused customers
• Ability to learn the company story, communicate value, and drive growth in the market
