Responsibilities Read, understand, interpret, and enforce safety policies and practices. Examine blueprints to determine dimensions of structure. Lay out floor‑plan/worksite as needed. Determine sequence of activities concerned with fabrication, assembly, and erection of structure. Assign workers to tasks. Inspect work performed by subordinates to ensure conformance with specifications. Study production schedules and estimate worker‑hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product to increase efficiency of work crew. Analyze and resolve work problems, assist workers in solving work problems, and initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Maintain time and production records. Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials. Maintain a general knowledge of equipment used on the job, including basic understanding of equipment limits and designed purposes. Position Requirements A minimum of 2–3 years of supervising/crew leadership experience. A minimum of 4–6 years of experience in pipe laying. A minimum of 4–6 years of operating large heavy equipment in connection with pipe laying. Work safely. Be able to carry 70 lbs. or more – frequent cross‑body movements such as bending, climbing, twisting, balancing, stooping, etc. High School diploma/GED preferred. Flexible availability to include overtime and weekends.
