Medical Lab Technician

Labcorp seeks a Medical Lab Technician for the Special Chemistry Department in Dallas, Texas, working night shifts Tuesday through Saturday. The role involves performing laboratory testing procedures, operating instrumentation, maintaining quality controls, and ensuring specimen acceptability according to established protocols.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate specimen acceptability and perform routine and complex technical procedures per departmental protocols
• Operate, monitor and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation for proper functionality
• Prepare, test and evaluate reagents and controls; report accurate test results
• Perform preventative maintenance and quality control documentation
• Manage testing supplies and assist with specimen processing as needed

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Chemical Science, Biological Science, or Clinical Laboratory Science
• Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems
• Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
• ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
• 1+ years clinical laboratory testing experience (preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• Flexibility to work overtime and alternative shifts
