This position reports to the Plasma Center Manager and is performed as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. About the role The Medical Support Specialist determines donor eligibility to donate plasma, manages donor adverse events, reviews laboratory test results, and notifies donors of unsuitable results. The role works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Specialist is familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment and provides center‑level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS). How you will contribute Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including standing orders from the Center Physician and donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance regarding medical or technical issues, donor safety and eligibility. Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable. Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, referring to EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs. What you bring to Takeda High school diploma or equivalent to graduate level of a recognized nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN. Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy in the state of licensure. Successfully complete FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Compensation and Benefits (Summary) Location: USA – IL – Rockford U.S. hourly wage range: $25.60 – $35.20 U.S. employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives, medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, short‑and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well‑being benefits.
