Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, where you will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support residents, staff, and visitors with strong customer service and communication. In this role, you will contribute to a caring, people-first culture built on teamwork, reliability, agility, innovation, and integrity while helping maintain a secure and welcoming environment.

- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a shelter location.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following post orders and reporting protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the building, common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorized entry when required, and document daily activities, unusual occurrences, and/or maintenance or security-related concerns.
- Support staff and residents with directions, de-escalation, and communication during routine operations and/or emergency situations.
Minimum Requirements:
- A New York State Security Guard License is required.
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
