Unit: 2W Pre/Post Day Surgery.

Cost Center: 76 WVUH Nursing Pre and Post Anesthesia.

Beds: 70 total.

Phase 1 and Phase 2? Our Recovery Areas do both Phase 1 & 2 care.

Nurse: Patient Ratios - Phase 1: 1:1,1:2 Phase 2: 1:3.

Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (All Must Be AHA).

Common Cases: Ortho, ENT, Ophthalmology, GYN, Urology, Endoscopy, Bronchoscopy, Podiatry.

Experience or 'Must have' skills: 1 year of experience.

EMR: EPIC.

Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Goal is a free charge nurse; but CN will take an assignment if needed.

House Supervisor available at all times.

Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Perioperative Care Assistants (PCA); 1:7 ratios.

RT Equipment: CPap, BiPap, Vents.

ICU patients - do they recover in PACU? Yes.

RNs read strips? Yes.

Shifts & Scheduling:

3-12hrs; Monday-Friday, Day/Evening.

2 Fridays & 2 Mondays per schedule.

Weeknight/Call Requirements: No night shifts.

Weekend/Call Requirements: No weekend shifts.

Holiday/Call Requirements: Rotate Winter & Summer Holidays (on 5North).

What is call response time? 1hr response time.

Floating Requirements: Pre/Post on 5North, 6North as needed.

Scrub Color/Dress Code: OR scrubs.

Unit/Department specific orientation: 2W Pre/Post orientation: up to 3shifts.

Additional Notes: 12hr call requirement per 4week schedule period.
