Academic Hematopathology Faculty: Diagnostics & Teaching

Role Description The Hematopathology Faculty Member will provide diagnostic hematopathology services, including interpretation of bone marrow biopsies, lymph node and tissue specimens, flow cytometry, and related laboratory studies. Daily responsibilities include signing out hematopathology cases, participating in multidisciplinary conferences, consulting with clinical colleagues, and contributing to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. The faculty member will engage in teaching activities for medical students, residents, fellows, and other learners, and will participate in scholarly work such as clinical, translational, or basic science research in hematopathology or related fields. Additional responsibilities may include involvement in institutional committees, development of protocols and guidelines, and support for the academic mission of the Department of Pathology and the College of Medicine. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Columbus, OH. Qualifications Board certification in Anatomic Pathology and/or Clinical Pathology, and subspecialty training or certification in Hematopathology. Demonstrated expertise in diagnostic hematopathology, including morphology, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and molecular/cytogenetic correlation. Strong teaching skills and a commitment to education for medical students, residents, fellows, and other health professionals. Experience or interest in clinical, translational, or basic science research, with the ability to contribute to scholarly publications and presentations. Effective interpersonal and communication skills for collaborative work with multidisciplinary teams and diverse patient populations. Commitment to inclusiveness, patient-centered care, and adherence to institutional values and professional ethics. Eligibility for an Ohio medical license and authorization to work in the United States.
