We take pride in delivering safe, compliant aircraft while supporting efficient operations and a strong team environment.Position SummaryInspect aircraft and avionics modifications, review, analyze, and prepare aircraft maintenance records, ensure compliance with repair station procedures, and perform final approvals for return to service. This role directly supports airworthiness decisions and ensures adherence to FAA regulations and company standards.A Day in the LifeAs an Aviation Quality Control Inspector, you'll balance hands-on inspections with technical review and cross-functional coordination, with a strong emphasis on avionics systems and modifications. You may begin your day reviewing aircraft maintenance records, determining compliance with airworthiness directives, and evaluating avionics installations.Throughout your shift, you'll perform in-progress and final inspections, support technicians with regulatory and technical guidance, and collaborate with leadership, manufacturers, and FAA representatives to resolve complex issues. Your work plays a direct role in aircraft release and customer delivery-ensuring every aircraft leaves in full compliance and performing as expected.Essential Job FunctionsInspect aircraft and avionics modifications to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, Repair Station Manual, and Quality Control proceduresReview and analyze maintenance records, time items, airworthiness directives, and service bulletinsPerform in-progress inspections, Critical Flight Safety (CFS) inspections, and final inspectionsPerform final release procedures for Part 91 and Part 135 aircraftPrepare and review maintenance documentation, including logbook entries, FAA Form 8130-3, field approvals, and alteration recordsCoordinate with technicians and multiple departments to support efficient and compliant workflowCommunicate with FAA representatives, manufacturers, and vendors to resolve technical and regulatory questionsAssist technicians with avionics, electrical, and regulatory concernsSupport audits and ensure ongoing compliance with FAA, Quality Control, and Repair Station Manual requirementsAssist in resolving quality concerns and supporting sound airworthiness decisionsMaintain clear communication across departments to promote safety, efficiency, and on-time deliveryParticipate in technical problem solving and continuous improvement activitiesWillingness to work additional hours, including weekends, as necessary to support delivery schedulesOther duties as assignedQualifications & RequirementsEducation & Experience:Minimum 10 years of experience maintaining piston and turbine-powered aircraft preferredExperience installing and/or inspecting avionics systems and modificationsFamiliarity with Garmin and Rockwell Collins systems preferredStrong knowledge of FAA regulations (14 CFR Parts 1, 21, 23, 39, 43, 91, 135, and 145)Experience with maintenance tracking systems (CAMP, AVTRAK, CESSCOM, or similar)Licenses:FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License requiredPreferred:Previous Quality Control Inspector experienceInspection Authorization (IA)Prior lead technician or supervisory experienceSkills & Competencies:Strong background in avionics and aircraft electrical systemsExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to analyze and interpret complex technical data and regulatory requirementsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to make sound, compliance-driven decisions in high-responsibility environmentsEffective collaboration with technicians, leadership, customers, and regulatory personnelCustomer-focused with strong problem-solving skillsPhysical & Work EnvironmentRegular standing, sitting, climbing, and movement within hangar environmentsOccasional lifting up to 100 lbsExposure to aircraft maintenance conditions, including noise, fumes, and equipmentLimited exposure to outdoor environments and elevated work areasAdditional RequirementsAbility to obtain and maintain airport access credentialsAbility to work varied shifts and additional hours as needed to support aircraft delivery schedulesCompensationThe base hourly range for this role is $35.00 USD - $50.00 USD. The pay range provided is a good faith estimate representative of experience levels.
