Senior Payroll SpecialistA growing organization in the utility, construction, and field services industry is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join its team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing for employees supporting project-based operations, including union workforce payroll and specialized off-cycle payments.The ideal candidate will have strong payroll expertise, experience working with complex pay structures, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive deadlines.Location: Greater Montgomery County, PA Area Schedule: Full-Time | Monday through Friday | Onsite Compensation: $28-$38/hour, depending on experienceKey ResponsibilitiesProcess biweekly, weekly, and off-cycle payrolls for multiple employee groupsAdminister payroll for union and project-based employeesManage payroll calculations, deductions, garnishments, and union-related requirementsEnsure employees are paid accurately and in compliance with applicable regulations and labor agreementsReview payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerRespond to employee payroll inquiries and research payroll-related issuesMaintain payroll records, reports, and supporting documentationPartner with Human Resources, Accounting, and Operations teams to ensure accurate payroll processingAssist with payroll audits, reporting, reconciliations, and compliance initiativesSupport special projects and process improvement efforts within the payroll functionSpecialized Payroll RequirementsThis position supports employees working on emergency response and project-based assignments. Certain union agreements require payroll to be processed within strict timelines following project completion. As a result:Flexibility is required to support occasional off-cycle payroll processingLimited evening, weekend, or holiday payroll activity may be necessary when projects conclude outside of standard business hoursRemote access may be available when after-hours payroll support is neededQualifications3+ years of payroll processing experience requiredExperience processing union payroll strongly preferredBackground in construction, utilities, infrastructure, industrial services, transportation, or field-service environments is highly desirableExperience with payroll platforms such as Paychex, ADP, UKG, or similar systemsStrong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax requirements, and compliance practicesAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reportingExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and problem-solving skillsBenefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
