Data Architect

Pay Range: $65hr - $70hr

Responsibilities:

• Data Architecture And Design:
• Design and implement scalable data architectures including data lakes and data warehouses.
• Develop and maintain logical and physical data models (star and snowflake schemas).
• Define data standards, governance, and best practices for enterprise data platforms.
• Data Engineering And Processing:
• Architect and oversee ETL/ELT pipelines and data orchestration frameworks.
• Enable batch and real-time data processing solutions.
• Support distributed data processing using big data technologies.
• Cloud And Infrastructure (AWS):
• Design and implement data solutions using AWS cloud services.
• Utilize infrastructure as code tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform.
• Ensure secure, compliant, and highly available cloud data environments.
• Security And Compliance:
• Implement AWS security best practices including IAM, networking, and data protection.
• Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Define access controls and data governance policies.
• Collaboration And Stakeholder Management:
• Work closely with business, analytics, and engineering teams to define requirements.
• Communicate architecture decisions and technical solutions to stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to data engineering teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or analytics platforms.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Strong expertise in data warehousing and data lake architectures.
• Proficiency in SQL and data modeling techniques.
• Experience with ETL/ELT frameworks and orchestration tools.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and big data technologies.
• Experience with streaming and real-time data processing.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, Terraform).
• Strong knowledge of AWS security, IAM, networking, and compliance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and Kafka.
• Familiarity with AWS Lake Formation, Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, or Hudi.
• Knowledge of data quality, metadata management, and lineage tools.
• Experience supporting AI/ML workloads using AWS services such as SageMaker.
• Prior experience in regulated industries (Banking, Healthcare, Telecom, Retail).
• AWS certifications such as: AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
• AWS Certified Database – Specialty.
