Aircraft Worker (JEIM): Eglin AFB

Responsibilities Repairs, maintains, and inspects aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment under the technical direction of an Aircraft Mechanic, Aircraft Mechanic (Senior) or Lead. Removes and installs aircraft components. Conducts functional tests of repaired components and systems. Adjusts, aligns, and rigs aircraft systems as required. Performs aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations. Inspects and identifies aircraft corrosion for prevention and repair. May perform crash recovery duties. Completes assigned tasks within the work center that directly support the necessary functions of this job classification. Qualifications Knowledge of aircraft systems principles, maintenance directives, data reporting, and technical data usage. Knowledge of Air Force supply and deficiency reporting procedures, proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials. Knowledge of MIS (CAMS/IMDS) and desktop computer operations. Working knowledge of Air Force supply procedures for parts procurement. High school completion with mathematics courses (desirable). Basic applicable aircraft maintenance course completion (mandatory). Qualification as Aircraft Worker (mandatory). Minimum three years of experience installing, inspecting, repairing, or overhauling aircraft structures, systems, and components (mandatory). Held Air Force or Sister Service Equivalent Jet Engine AFSC (required). Experience in JEIM shop for teardown and build-up of F100-PW-100 & 220 engines (preferred). Additional experience with F100-PW-229, F110-GE-129E, F110-GE-100, and F110-GE-129 (desired). Ability to remove and replace line replaceable units (LRU) and rig if required. Borescope qualification and blade blend certification (desired). Working knowledge of Air Force Maintenance Information Systems (MIS). SECRET clearance required.
