This role will report to Facilities Manager and based in Newark, DE. This is a fully on-site, in office role.Role and Responsibilities:Performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on buildings and building systems requested by clients.Prioritizes daily activities and work order scheduling. Keeps management informed on progress and delays of all preventive maintenance work orders, related jobs, and other repair activities to help assist with efficient and adequate utilization of staff and resources.Ensures timely completion of properly authorized work orders in a cost effective manner.Responds to client questions on contracted maintenance activities and decisions in resolving problems in a professional and timely manner.Interacts courteously with the client staff, vendors and public; maintains effective working relationships with other staff; cooperates with and follows directions of Supervisor to effectively meet departmental and client objectives.Participates in safety training and meetings and uses safe working practices at all times.Responds to emergencies as requested and may coordinate after-hours work activities and repairs.Inspects completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes.Assists the Equipment Maintenance technicians on production line repairs, preventative maintenance, and equipment/facility upgrades.Executes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.Install highly technical mechanical equipment according to the manufacturer's recommendations in a timely manner for an optimal production timeline that avoids lengthy periods without loss of business.Complete periodic maintenance of equipment and machinery by following the recommended upkeep schedule throughout the life of the devices.Troubleshoot common issues with equipment and assist operators with getting back to a productive mode.Skills and Experience:High School Diploma or GED equivalent required3 + years of proven facilities experience preferredKnowledge of Computerized Maintenance Systems (CMMS) preferredAbility to work efficiently with cross functional teamAbility to multitask and have the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.Ability to understand and resolve Facilities/Equipment repair issues independentlySuperior communication skills (written, verbal, and active listening)Highly motivated self-starter, capable of self-management with little to no oversightStrong interpersonal skills and proven ability to establish effective cross-functional working relationshipsMust have knowledge of MS Office including Power Point, Excel, and WordStrong knowledge of skilled trades, such as HVAC, electrical or carpentryExcellent understanding of mechanical systems and partsPhysical Requirements (optional):Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenanceMust be physically able to perform repairs when neededUse hands and fingers to operate machinery controls and computers throughout the shiftVisual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materialsHearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staffAbility to perform essential tasks with or without reasonable accommodationAbility to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours per shiftOccasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbsMust wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in required areas (safety glasses, safety-toed boots).Bloom Energy is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
