Driver / WarehouseThe driver/warehouse position is responsible for maintaining a professional appearance and knowledge of materials delivered to the customer. The driver/warehouse employee will safely drive and handle all materials in accordance with the company standards of service. This position is also responsible for various duties related to the handling of materials in the warehouse. This position receives, stores and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.Reports to: Warehouse Manager or Profit Center ManagerMinimum Qualifications:Must be 21 years of age or older to be consideredHigh School diploma or GEDFavorable driving historyClass E driver's license (Class C for drivers in Illinois)Competencies:Communication ProficiencyThoroughnessOrganizational SkillsTime ManagementTechnical CapacityAbility to MultitaskPreferred Qualifications:3 to 4 years of experience in material handling preferred3 to 4 years of customer service experience preferredExperience in Electrical Supply Industry preferredWorking Conditions:This position operates in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, as well as standard warehouse equipment such as forklifts, box cutters, and tape dispensers.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoEssential Job Functions:Delivering company materials to customers in a professional mannerEffectively and professionally meet and communicate with the publicDrive, automatic/manual transmission vehicle (safely & legally, driving violations may jeopardize your position as a driver)Shipping and receiving duties; including loading and unloading trucksRead customer orders, work orders, shipping orders to determine items to picked, packed, distributed or shipped/transferredMove materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequenceAssemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping departmentUse computer and RF guns to manage sales orders, inventory and enter information into business management systemParticipate in cycle counting of physical inventoryOpen boxes and other containersOperate wire cutter to cut wire according to customer ordersOperate forklift in warehouse settingSweep, dust and mop.
