Primary Purpose Supervise a team of examiners for liability claims, monitor workloads, provide training, direct claim adjudication, and maintain detailed claim diaries. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Supervise the operation of a team of examiners for liability claims. Identify and advise management of trends, problems, and issues; recommend actions and new procedures; coordinate with management on projects. Provide technical/jurisdictional direction to examiner reports on claims adjudication. Compile and analyze management reports and take appropriate action. Perform quality reviews on claims in compliance with audit, service contracts, and quality standards. Act as second‑level appeal for client and claimant issues; implement final disposition of appeals. Review reserve amounts on high‑cost claims and claims beyond individual examiner authority. Monitor third‑party claims; maintain periodic reviews of litigated, serious vocational rehabilitation, questionable, and sensitive claims as defined by client. Maintain contact with the client, promote professional relationships, make recommendations, and provide written summaries of specific claims when requested. Ensure direct reports have the proper licensing in serviced jurisdictions. Ensure claims files are coded correctly and documentation is complete. Additional Functions and Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned. Support the organization’s quality programs. Supervisory Responsibilities Administer company personnel policies and follow staffing standards and training recommendations. Interview, hire, and establish colleague performance development plans; conduct performance discussions. Provide support, guidance, leadership, and motivation to promote maximum performance. Qualifications Education & Licensing Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; licenses and professional certifications as required for the line of business. Experience Five (5) years of General Liability claims experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, including two (2) years of claims supervisor experience. As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency. For the jurisdiction noted in this posting, the starting pay range for this role is $100,000 – $115,000.
