Senior Principal Software Engineer with Test Equipment

Position: Software/Test Equipment Development Engineer – Tucson, AZ Role: Onsite What You Will Do Guide multidisciplinary teams in the development of test equipment. Prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a production environment. Contribute to cost and schedule management planning. Communicate with senior management on project status. Diagnose and troubleshoot software and test equipment issues. Develop requirements for software products. Document and communicate program management information. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and ten (10) years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and seven (7) years of experience. Minimum ten (10) years developing and integrating software applications using C++, C#, Java, Python, or Visual Basic. Minimum ten (10) years of professional engineering experience with development environments, debugging tools, and software integrity. Experience with Windows OS, Microsoft Visual Studio, and Microsoft Azure DevOps Server. Familiarity with laboratory test instrumentation, electronics, and software (e.g., NI VISA, NI Measurement and Automation Explorer, NI Switch Executive). Minimum two (2) years of experience managing test equipment on DoD‑compliant information systems, leading program or project teams. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of computer architecture and hardware optimization. Experience developing software drivers for hardware interfaces. Understanding of common hardware interfaces and data protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, RS‑422). Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) for software architecture and design (e.g., IBM Rhapsody, Cameo System Modeler). Experience with Software Development Life Cycle practices such as Agile. Knowledge of Software Configuration Management principles. Benefits Competitive salary range: 132,400USD – 251,600USD.
