Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Urbana, Illinois.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Med Surg\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/28/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 28, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg unit requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and Epic charting proficiency.Details\n \n Inpatient overflow Med/Surg unit at a Level 1 Trauma hospital\n Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 3x12-hour shifts per week\n Weekend and holiday shifts as needed\n No on-call requirements\n Will float to similar units\n Uses Epic EMR\n Requirements\n \n Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)\n BLS certification (American Heart Association)\n Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience\n ASN required, BSN preferred\n Level 1 Trauma experience required\n Epic charting experience required\n Strong skills in interdisciplinary collaboration, time management, critical thinking, documentation, and medication administration\n Additional Information\n \n Assumes responsibility for a group of patients, utilizing the nursing process to deliver individualized care\n Completes admission assessments, develops and modifies care plans, and documents care per Med/Surg standards\n Delegates and validates completion of patient care tasks with assigned HCTs\n Administers medications following the 5 Rights of medication administration\n Maintains patient safety through fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety\n Facilitates timely admission, discharge, and testing completion for patients\n Communicates effectively within the healthcare team to promote care coordination\n Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted\n RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract\n Contingent workers limited to 1 year of continuous assignment before requiring a 6-month break in service\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-737790.
