A well-established Chicago law firm growing into Detroit is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Attorney to join its dynamic litigation team.

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for representing clients in complex commercial disputes, providing legal advice, and developing strategies for litigation and resolution. This position requires strong advocacy skills and a deep understanding of contract law and civil procedure.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent clients in commercial litigation cases in state and federal courts.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials.
• Manage case files and maintain organization of case management systems.
• Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients to resolve disputes efficiently.
• Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations in commercial matters.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop effective litigation strategies and approaches.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial litigation.
• Strong understanding of contract law and civil procedure.
• Proven advocacy and negotiation skills.
• Excellent legal writing and research abilities.
• Experience with case management and trial preparation.
• Ability to represent clients effectively in mediation and dispute resolution.
