Manufacturing facility in Indianapolis has n opening on their team for a Mechanical Engineering Technologist to support plant operations through hands-on engineering, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is primarily floor-based and works closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability, safety, and productivity.

Mechanical Engineering Technologist Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a hands-on engineering resource on the production floor , supporting daily operations and resolving recurring equipment and process issues
• Lead and assist with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting , including hands-on repair, testing, and validation
• Support and troubleshoot equipment utilizing Allen-Bradley PLC platforms , including basic ladder logic troubleshooting
• Manage small to medium capital improvement projects , including safety oversight, budget tracking, contractor coordination, and schedule management
• Oversee Management of Change (MOC) processes for equipment and process modifications in assigned areas
• Develop and maintain technical documentation such as preventive maintenance work orders, spare parts lists, P&IDs, and equipment documentation
• Analyze production and equipment performance data to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and operators to drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide regular production updates, project timelines, and status reports to plant leadership
• Mentor and support operations and maintenance personnel through technical guidance and training

Mechanical Engineering Technologist Required Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology with 3+ years of industrial manufacturing experience , or
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology
• Strong hands-on experience with industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment
• Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and working in PLC-controlled environments
• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLC systems ; basic ladder logic troubleshooting preferred
• Experience managing capital projects and handling multiple priorities simultaneously
