Location: BMH Bronson Methodist Hospital Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) – Full‑time 12N Responsibilities Under general supervision and in accordance with the policies, procedures, and guidelines established within the organization, the registered nurse manages the care delivery for patients throughout the length of stay to achieve quality outcomes and timely discharge. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, diagnosing, implementation and evaluation. Coordinates the care provided by other professionals and delegates selected acts, tasks or functions that fall within the scope of professional nursing practice and the abilities of patient care assistants and universal service assistants. Provides selected aspects of physical care within the scope of professional nursing practice appropriate to the patient’s acuity and complexity of care. Documents and communicates during each tour of duty the patient's response to care, consumption of resources and anticipated needs. Assesses the patient’s physical and developmental needs, analyzes assessment data to identify appropriate patient needs, documents nursing history, reviews vital signs, and detects deviations from normal. Identifies patient problems or issues, confirms them with the patient and family when appropriate, and documents expected outcomes and plans of care. Coordinates discharge planning for outcomes not achieved, utilizing the continuum of care available. Incorporates clinical pathways into the plan when appropriate, develops individualized interventions with patient input, and considers data from other healthcare team members. Implements the plan by providing interventions, administering prescribed medication and treatment, utilizing evidence‑based interventions, maintaining awareness of comfort and safety needs, and coordinating patient education. Evaluates progress toward attainment of expected outcomes, assesses effectiveness of interventions, documents patient response, and adjusts the plan as needed. Participates in quality improvement activities, ongoing educational activities, and self‑evaluation to attain and maintain competency within current nursing practice. Collaborates with patients, families, and other health disciplines to effect change and generate positive outcomes. Integrates ethical provisions, protects patient autonomy, and demonstrates commitment to relationship‑centered care. Maintains a supportive and healthy work environment, shares knowledge with peers, and ensures compassionate relationships. Qualifications Associate’s degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred, must be obtained within eight years of hire. Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing for the state of Michigan. BLS certification required by completion of core orientation. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification may be required depending on unit. Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) may be required for full‑time and part‑time nurses. Current driver’s license in the state of Michigan and proof of insurance. Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data from various computer systems and equipment. Superior verbal, written, and electronic communication skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle tasks requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods. Shift/Hours 12‑hour night shift. Full‑time scheduled weekly hours: 36. #J-18808-Ljbffr
