Counter Sales / Account Manager – Plumbing Equipment & Supplies

Location: Ridgefield, CT
Pay: $25–$35 per hour, depending on experience, plus commission
Job Type: Full-time, permanent

New England’s leading HVAC and plumbing wholesaler and distributor is seeking an experienced Counter Sales / Account Manager for its Ridgefield, Connecticut location.

This position combines hands-on counter sales with customer relationship management and sales growth. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands plumbing equipment and supplies, enjoys helping contractors, and wants to build a rewarding career with a respected company.

Responsibilities

Assist plumbing contractors, technicians, and other customers at the sales counter
Identify and recommend plumbing equipment, parts, materials, and supplies
Answer questions regarding products, pricing, availability, and deliveries
Prepare quotes, enter orders, process sales, and follow up on open orders
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customer accounts
Identify opportunities to increase sales and strengthen customer loyalty
Develop relationships with new contractors and prospective customers
Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and delivery teams to fulfill orders
Resolve order issues and customer concerns promptly and professionally
Maintain accurate customer, quote, order, and account information
Stay current on products, inventory, promotions, and industry developments

Qualifications

Experience in plumbing supply, wholesale distribution, counter sales, account management, or a related trade
Strong working knowledge of plumbing equipment, parts, materials, and supplies
Ability to identify products and recommend appropriate solutions
Excellent customer-service, communication, and relationship-building skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple customers and priorities in a busy sales environment
Comfortable using computers to prepare quotes, enter orders, and manage accounts
Sales, business-development, or account-management experience is a plus
Dependable, professional, and motivated to contribute to sales growth

Compensation and Opportunity
