Kid’s Café Supervisor

Thomasville, GA | $15.00 - $16.00/ Hour

A client company of New Hire Solutions is on the lookout for a Kid’s Café Supervisor to be responsible for leading daily kitchen operations, including supervising and scheduling staff, overseeing meal preparation and deliver, and ensuring compliance with food safety and program guidelines. You will manage inventory, coordinate menus and deliver routes, and serve as the main point of contact for food related issues while maintaining efficient, organized, and compliant operations.

Responsibilities

• Our Kids Cafe Supervisor will supervise the kitchen staff including training, coaching, scheduling, approving time-off requests, and ensure adherence to departmental dress code. Complete and submit required initial training documentation within the first two weeks of an employee’s hire date or in a timely manner for subsequent training
• Create the kitchen team’s work plan to successfully prepare and deliver the week’s meals and snacks based on the approved menu and recipes. (Deviations must be approved by the KC Program Manager, Director, or CPO).
• Spend regularly scheduled time in the kitchen each day participating in and overseeing meal production to ensure operations are safe, efficient, accurate, and compliant.
• Ensure that meals and snacks prepared and delivered are on the approved menu and, if prepared in-house, follow approved recipes.
• Make deliveries as needed (though it is preferred that the KS stay on site at SHSG).
• Attend the mandatory KC Supervisor/Manager meeting on scheduled mornings. Hold weekly kitchen team meetings on scheduled days (preferably Monday) mornings to brief for the week.
• Act as the point of contact (POC) for all food-related site issues: meal count adjustments, questions, concerns, complaints, etc.
• Communicate with sites (weekly for CACFP, daily for SFSP) to verify meal counts are accurate and make adjustments in the Meal Tracking Sheet before noon every Monday.
• Implement all relevant food safety requirements and monitor kitchen operations to ensure that standards are met.
• Oversee the weekly cleaning and maintenance of the Kids Café fleet and the submission of daily vehicle pre-trip inspection reports to HR by the second business day of each month.
• Ensure that the kitchen/delivery team has proper equipment and paperwork to complete their work.
• Work with Program Manager and Program Director to create delivery schedules and routes.
• Create printable site menus weekly in KidKare (based on available template elements and matching the rotating menu established by department heads). Print the menus on Friday for delivery on Monday.
• Oversee program inventory and internal ordering with the goal of minimizing waste and costs by completing full weekly inventory counts on all KC food and consumables, maintaining adequate kitchen staples, cleaning products, etc. rotating product to ensure freshness; and coordinating with team members and other departments to place weekly orders in quantities that do not exceed what’s needed for the week’s meal service.
• Conduct site visit/monitoring sessions as needed and scheduled by the KC Program Director.
• Set kitchen cleaning schedules based on all applicable food safety and operational standards (including AIB).
• Maintain digital temperature logs for kitchen equipment.
• Utilize the Outlook calendar to record time spent off-site during the workday.
• Receive product deliveries, count and confirm orders are correct, and hold documentation until month’s end.
• Scan and send delivery receipts to sites as instructed (e.g. send YMCA records by COB daily).
• Maintain open lines of communication with direct reports and management.
• Check with supervisor and provide operational updates prior to leaving each day.

• Notify supervisor/management immediately if there are issues related to food quality, complaints about staff, or safety

Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to bend, crouch, and stand for long periods of time
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• Clean MVR
• Food safety certified or willing to become so in the first 60 days
• Maintain positive relations with team and agency members, staff, and community in a professional manner utilizing appropriate customer service and interpersonal skills
• Skills to perform basic arithmetic calculations, use standard office equipment and computer
• Must wear proper PPE: closed toe shoes, jeans or khakis, no graphic t-shirt
• Have reliable transportation and show up on time for shift

Location: Thomasville, GA

Pay Rate: $15.00 - $16.00/ Hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, hours could vary. Some Saturdays
