Senior Safety Manager - Rail and Transit / Tunnel

Senior Safety Manager Parsons is looking for an experienced Senior Safety Manager to lead safety for the NJ Surface Alignment, Package 3, of the Gateway Program. Program background The Gateway Program is a comprehensive set of rail investments to improve commuter and intercity services and add resiliency, ultimately creating new capacity between Newark, New Jersey and New York City. Parsons, Arcadis, and Mace collaborate as Delivery Partners to provide strategic advisory, project management, design management, construction management, stakeholder coordination, federal compliance, and related services for the Hudson Tunnel Project under the program. Key responsibilities Responsible for the management and oversight of the SEP Safety Inspectors on the NJ TRANSIT TEAM. Lead the development of a safety culture for the SEP NJ TRANSIT TEAM. Oversee the Safety Team to develop and report daily observations affecting work site safety. Review DB Contractor submittals including safety plans, permits, and other regulatory compliance documents and monitor work activity accordingly. Conduct, attend, and report on project safety meetings, toolbox talks, standdowns, and other safety engagements. Interface, interact with, and support the GDC Programmatic Safety Executive and GDC Corporate Safety Guidelines. Respond to, report, and investigate incidents 24/7, ensuring process completion. Required skills Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. 10‑15+ years managing safety programs on civil construction projects. Minimum 4 years of rail experience. Minimum OSHA 10 certification. Desired skills BCSP certifications (STC, CHST, SMS, ASP, CSP). NJ Transit experience. Experience with mega rail and transit projects. Experience working with multiple partners and clients. Amtrak Safety Training and active Amtrak ROW card. Training in incident investigations (Tap Root, Latent Cause, Top Set, etc.). Tunneling experience. OSHA 30 training. Security clearance requirement None Compensation & benefits Salary Range: $108,700.00 – $190,200.00.
