Quality Lead

About the Opportunity The Quality Lead ensures that all finished goods produced meet customer specifications and requirements by effectively training Quality Team members, leading their work, and enforcing compliance with GMPs and internal SOPs. Key Responsibilities Represent the Quality Department in a positive and consistent manner. Serve as backup to perform regular quality audits on production lines. Complete required documentation correctly and accurately. Follow, train, and enforce company processes and procedures. Assist in managing the site’s Quality Management System (QMS) – uploading training documents, reviewing procedures/forms, etc. Participate and/or facilitate internal/external audits. Perform internal audits (Quality / Safety / Sanitation / Efficiency / etc.). Verify all production records (PTS) cross shift. Manage Production and Quality paperwork filing. Back up printing of code date labels and other labels. Verify-Release IRC/tear pads as necessary. Back up incoming corrugate inspections and release inspected corrugate in WMS. Assist with investigations to determine possible reasons for variances. Respond to quality related issues as they arise and communicate/escalate as necessary. Document NCRs in QMS and assist with root cause analysis. Prepare samples for customers as necessary. Participate in Pre-Production Meetings (PPMs) and First Production Approvals (FPAs). Verify critical control points (e.g., temperature verification, daily thermometer checks). Communicate Menasha hold requests to the customer as necessary. Respond to customer hold requests as necessary. Coordinate Special Service Request (SSR) processes – authoring protocols and reviewing paperwork. Coordinate Rework processes – authoring protocols and reviewing paperwork. Complete departmental documentation and data logs. Serve on Recall, Self Improvement Program (SIP), and HACCP teams as required. Perform necessary computer functions related to the job. Perform other duties assigned by management/supervisors. Education and Certification High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Safety-sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner. Ability to work overtime and weekends as required. Ability to work effectively in teams. Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles. Good interpersonal skills to communicate with subject-matter experts and other quality representatives. Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure. Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, complex tasks. Must be detail-oriented and pay close attention to accuracy. Ability to apply commonsense and communicate accurately to execute detailed instructions (verbal and written). Ability to analyze information to maintain accurate, detailed records using computerized and manual means. Ability to solve problems with several concrete variables in standard situations. Ability to communicate accurately, clearly, and concisely in written, verbal, and electronic formats. Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and prepare documents with minimal supervision. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with contacts in the course of work. Ability to read and write using the English language. Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer environments. Compensation and Benefits Expected hourly rate: $21.50/hr. Eligible for an annual incentive plan and a full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision insurance, basic term life, AD&D, short and long term disability, 401(k) retirement savings plan, PTO, and paid holidays.
