Responsibilities

Draw blood specimens from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established protocols and procedures

Prepare and process blood specimens for laboratory testing with accuracy and professionalism

Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling of specimens, confirming accuracy with patients at the bedside

Maintain thorough documentation and records of specimen collection and processing activities

Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients to explain procedures and promote a comfortable environment

Perform specimen collection duties in various settings, including patient service centers and clinical offices, adhering to safety and confidentiality standards

Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment

Work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple priorities in a high-volume setting

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient daily operations and process excellence

Required Skills

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and team members

Proficiency in data entry and specimen documentation

Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on established protocols

Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license if applicable

Demonstrated focus on customer service and professionalism

Additional Skills & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required

Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred; phlebotomy certification preferred

Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections

Experience working in a patient service center environment preferred

Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call hours

Must comply with healthcare policies, safety standards, and company dress code

Availability to travel between multiple locations as needed
