Full job description Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to seniors in an assisted living community. Your expertise will help individuals navigate mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve personal growth. Duties Conduct clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations ICD-10 coding systems to develop personalized treatment plans. Provide individual counseling sessions utilizing different modalities. Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure patient safety during acute episodes. Facilitate specialized counseling for populations with PTSD, addiction issues, grief, chronic pain and geriatrics. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers and medical professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Maintain accurate documentation of medical terminology and CPT coding for billing purposes; collect data for clinical research initiatives. Experience Proven experience providing mental health counseling. Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy techniques such as psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care (including PTSD). Strong background working with a diverse populations across age groups including geriatrics. Experience conducting intake assessments using ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) and managing electronic medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
