Executive Director, Research - Integrative Sciences — Cardiovascular

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks an Executive Director to lead cardiovascular external innovation strategy within Integrative Sciences. The role identifies and evaluates high-value partnerships with biotech, academic, and platform collaborators to complement internal discovery and early development priorities in cardiovascular and cardiometabolic diseases.

Responsibilities

• Communicate internal cardiovascular research priorities and align external opportunity evaluation with BMS strategy
• Lead disciplined triage and evaluation of cardiovascular biotech partnerships, academic collaborations, and platform technologies
• Form and lead cross-functional diligence teams for collaboration opportunities and provide expert scientific opinion
• Shape opportunities into practical collaboration plans with clear objectives, milestones, governance structures, and success measures
• Serve on joint governance committees with partners and represent Integrative Sciences to internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent advanced degree in cardiovascular biology, cardiometabolic disease, or related discipline
• 10+ years drug discovery and early development experience in pharma or biotech
• Deep expertise in cardiovascular and cardiometabolic disease biology and their interaction
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate external scientific opportunities and partnerships
• Experience shaping external collaboration plans with scientific objectives and milestones
• Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills
• Ability to serve as scientific lead on contract and collaboration structure discussions
