About the Position: Take unemployment claims, identify eligibility issues, non-monetary investigations/adjudications, audit work search activity, provide customers information on unemployment claims, online support and perform other unemployment insurance eligibility related duties. Perform duties related to the Office of Re-Employment Assistance including but not limited to the following: Customer service assistance, handling inbound and outbound calls, basic claim intake, creating issues, answering questions and concerns from customers in a timely manner. Proficient communication, oral and written. Processes overpayments to include establishing and cancelling overpayments. Possess the flexibility to alternate between various duties and programs in the Benefits Department. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends if needed. Some travel may be required. All potential applicants are required to have a valid driver's license and pass an extensive background check.

What You'll Need To Be Successful: Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills along with verbal/written communication skills. Strong time management and organizational skills. Must be computer literate and work independently and with others. Must have a commitment to quality and accountability and a broad knowledge of MDES laws, regulations, programs and agency policies related to unemployment. Preferred Qualifications Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of experience. For the Division of Medicaid, an Associate's Degree and 3-5 years of experience.
