Data Engineer

Senior Data Engineer Location: Onsite/Hybrid (Broward County) Work Type: Full-time Position Overview Zenius Corporation is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to develop and maintain enterprise data pipelines and supporting infrastructure used to collect, integrate, store, transform, and process large volumes of data. The consultant will build reliable ETL/ELT processes, integrate multiple data sources, and ensure data quality and availability for analytics and reporting. Key Responsibilities Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain scalable batch and/or streaming data pipelines. Develop ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and integrate data from enterprise applications, ERP platforms, databases, APIs, files, and cloud services. Implement data quality, validation, reconciliation, observability, lineage, and error-handling controls. Optimize data processing for reliability, scalability, performance, maintainability, and cost. Collaborate with data architects, analysts, BI developers, data scientists, application teams, and security/governance stakeholders. Support enterprise data lake/lakehouse, analytics, reporting, and integration initiatives as assigned. Document source-to-target mappings, pipeline logic, data models, interfaces, operational procedures, and support requirements. Troubleshoot production data issues and support deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications 7+ years of data engineering, data integration, ETL/ELT, or closely related enterprise data experience. Strong SQL skills and experience integrating data from multiple structured and/or semi-structured sources. Experience building production-grade data pipelines and implementing data quality and reliability controls. Experience with cloud or enterprise data platforms and modern data engineering practices. Ability to collaborate with technical and business teams and clearly document data solutions. Ability and willingness to work onsite or hybrid at Broward County Public Schools locations when required by the assignment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Synapse, AWS Glue, Snowflake, or comparable platforms. Python and/or Spark experience. Experience with enterprise data lakes/lakehouses, ERP data integration, analytics, and BI platforms. Experience with data governance, metadata, lineage, security, and privacy controls. Assignment & Compliance Expectations Assignment duration, schedule, duties, and work location will be determined by the applicable client request/purchase order and may vary by engagement. Selected consultants must successfully complete Zenius and client-required screening before placement, which may include reference verification, criminal background checks, drug/alcohol screening, employment eligibility verification, and client-approved fingerprinting requirements. Consultants must maintain professional conduct and comply with applicable client policies while working at client locations. This is a consulting/staffing opportunity; assignment availability and duration are contingent upon client needs, selection, and authorization to begin work.
