Summary

Main duties will be to provide prompt and courteous technical service to charter guests while on their sailing vacation. This includes responding to service requests across the British Virgin Islands, including Virgin Gorda.

The position requires flexibility with working hours to meet operational needs. This is a full-time, permanent role.

What you will be doing

• Aid charter guests out at sea or closest land location in need of technical service – including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
• Document technical assistance to charter guests.
• Provide fast and efficient service to clients while at seas.
• Fixing all electrical, mechanical, refrigeration and Air Condition issues.
• Repair all plumbing including domestic water supply, sewage waste lines, clogged heads and holding tanks lines.
• Providing fresh supply of ice and linens to clients while on charter.
• When on service calls keep in mind the company’s policy of 100% guest satisfaction, guaranteed timing and efficiency.
• Assist clients with briefing, if need be, for safe navigation.
• Assist clients with navigating their yachts to a safe harbour if help is needed.
• Keep chase call boats and truck in a clean and safe condition in keeping with Company safety policy.
• Keep boats and truck fuel supply always topped off

What we are looking for

• Must have a captain’s license and a thorough knowledge of the waters during the day and at night
• Experience maintaining diesel engines and 2 & 4 stroke outboard engines
• Working knowledge of 12v DC and 120v AC electrical systems
• An understanding of marine plumbing systems
• Air conditioning and refrigeration troubleshooting and repair
• Experience working with similar yachts
• Practically minded, a good fault finder, with the proactive attitude focusing on solutions
• Comfortable prioritising and staying on track with tight deadlines
• Experience in a customer facing position
• A flexible working approach, able to meet operational demands in terms of duties and working hours
• Well organised and able to prioritise effectively
• Good working knowledge of communication systems
• Ability to use a VHF radio including the proper use of call signs
• Accept and carry out instruction with minimal need of supervision
• Self-motivated, friendly and professional
