Senior Software Engineer

Role Description

RYZ Labs is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Sales & Finance Engineering team and contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of applications. You’ll help build and evolve a service-oriented, event-driven ecosystem of applications that position their teams to make the most informed decisions about the products they are releasing to their fans.

Their stack primarily uses:

• Elixir with the Phoenix Framework
• LiveView frontends
• PostgreSQL databases
• An event-based system with RabbitMQ
• AWS EKS using Terraform
• Continuous integration and deployment with GitHub Actions

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Elixir programming language and functional programming concepts
• Experience building web applications with Phoenix or similar frameworks
• Interest or experience in CQRS and evented systems
• Familiarity with database systems and PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of web application security best practices
• Experience with Git and working with a team (e.g. Pull Requests)
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Experience integrating legacy systems with modern platforms

Requirements

• Experience with LiveView is a plus
• A portfolio or examples of previous Elixir LiveView projects is a plus

Key Responsibilities

• Writing clear, maintainable code supported by automated tests
• Conducting thorough code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to team standards
• Collaborating cross-functionally with product and design teams to ensure code meets all customer requirements
• Breaking down larger projects into smaller tasks for yourself and your team
• Optimizing application performance and troubleshooting issues
• Diagnosing and fixing bugs in their services
