Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant is the first contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative tasks in addition to patient care. The Medical Assistant performs advanced administrative, operational, and customer support tasks that require independent initiative and judgment.

As a Medical Assistant you will perform clinical tasks such as:

• Discussing symptoms and obtaining vital signs.
• Administering medication and vaccines and performing phlebotomy and diagnostic screening tests.
• Sterilizing and cleaning equipment and maintaining examination rooms.
• Documenting information into the electronic medical records system.
• Collaborating with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.
• Delivering direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows.
• Prioritizing requests and interpreting and adapting procedures, processes, and techniques.
• Having advanced skills, contributing to process improvement, delivering in-depth education, and providing advanced guidance/mentoring to other Medical Assistants.

Required Qualifications:

• Certified or Registered.
• Phlebotomy experience.
• Medication/vaccine administration experience.
• 1+ years of MA experience.
• CPR Certified.
• This role is patient facing and runs the Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to undergo TB screening.

Other Qualifications:

• 1+ years of MA experience in PCO center.
• Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam before foreign language communication.

Work Hours:

Monday Friday 8:00 to 5:00

Location:

Onsite at CenterWell Senior Primary Care office located at 1766 East Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89104-1945.

This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.

Pay Range: $44,900 - $60,200 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
