Job DescriptionSafety Manager\nLarkin Express, LLC | Heavy Haul Trucking\nCharleston, SC\n\nLarkin Express is seeking a Safety Manager to lead our driver safety and compliance program. This role works closely with drivers, dispatch, and operations to support safe heavy haul moves and maintain accurate compliance records.\n\nResponsibilities\n· Oversee driver qualification, training, and safety records.\n· Monitor hours of service, vehicle inspection, and maintenance compliance.\n· Investigate accidents and safety incidents, identify causes, and follow through on corrective actions.\n· Conduct safety meetings and coach drivers on safe operating practices.\n· Review load securement, route planning, and other risks specific to oversize and overweight moves.\n· Prepare for audits and keep policies and procedures current with applicable requirements.\n· Track safety performance and recommend improvements.\n\nQualifications\n· Experience managing safety and compliance for a trucking company; heavy haul experience strongly preferred.\n· Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA requirements.\n· Experience with driver coaching, incident investigation, and compliance audits.\n· Strong communication, organization, and recordkeeping skills.\n· Ability to work effectively with drivers and operations staff.
