Business Office Coordinator Residential Living

$18.93 - $27.45 per hour

Job Description The Business Office Coordinator for our Residential Living facility manages resident billing, collections, and payments, supports payor source applications (including Medicaid), oversees resident trust accounts, and assists with accounts payable and receivable. Essential Functions Assists residents and/or their families with potential payor source applications (including Medicaid, Medicare, VA eligibility) according to state-based guidelines. Completes and submits appropriate applications; follows up through application and redetermination process. Establishes and maintains a system of financial record keeping, issuing receipts, preparing bank deposits, and recording payments. Collects resident liability, insurance co‑payments, and private pay payments; manages petty cash and collections. Collaborates with Intermountain Health RSC and payors to define billing requirements and ensures prompt payment of claims. Manages census activities (daily, weekly, monthly) balancing with nursing and admissions departments. Manages the Resident Trust Account, performing weekly and monthly reconciliations. Manages department spending for resident activities and office supplies. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Relevant work experience in a related field. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in healthcare or business related field. Geriatric and long-term care experience. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Regular attendance on site during business hours or scheduled shifts. Discretion in verbal and written communication, ensuring resident confidentiality. Ability to read, understand and apply personal tax return information and profit & loss statements. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite. Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal. Interpersonal skills to interact with residents, families, physicians, nursing personnel and co-workers. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of State and Federal Programs available (Medicaid, Medicare, SSDI, SSI). Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
