Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides advanced nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU, ensuring comprehensive patient management and adherence to clinical protocols. Collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver safe, effective, and empathetic care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and monitor medications and IV drips, including Cardizem, Insulin, Propofol, Versed, and Vasopressors.
• Utilize telemetry and monitor equipment to continuously assess patient status and respond to changes promptly.
• Collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document patient care accurately within EMR systems such as Paragon and Allscripts TouchWorks-Clinis.
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatments, procedures, and recovery expectations.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain certification requirements, including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with ICU experience preferred.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.
• Demonstrated ability to manage critically ill patients in a high-pressure setting.
• Skilled in telemetry, ventilator management, and complex medication administration.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work every other weekend and observe major holidays.
