Position Overview 

One of our Partners in North Carolina is seeking a Neurocritical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for ongoing locum tenens coverage within a dedicated Neuro ICU. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling with approximately 14 shifts per month and the option to work either days or nights.

Providers will manage critically ill neurological patients within a comprehensive stroke-certified hospital and Level II Trauma Center while working alongside an experienced Neurocritical Care team.

Provider Pay: $125/hour

Pay Ranking: Top 10–15% nationally for Neurocritical Care APP locum opportunities (2026 data).

This assignment offers strong earnings potential, schedule flexibility, and ongoing coverage needs for providers seeking consistent Neuro ICU work.

Assignment Highlights

• Orientation completed prior to first shift

Job Responsibilities

• Manage Neuro ICU patients
• Perform daily patient rounding
• Complete admissions and evaluations
• Develop and implement treatment plans
• Manage acute neurological emergencies
• Collaborate with neurologists, intensivists, neurosurgeons, and nursing staff
• Participate in multidisciplinary care planning
• Complete documentation within Epic EMR
• Coordinate patient care transitions and discharge planning
