Systems Engineer

Key Responsibilities: System Integration and Testing: Integrate machine vision LED lighting systems with mechanical fixtures, machine vision cameras and other related and software Work with engineers to implement algorithms for image processing and analysis Work with electrical and mechanical engineers to test and document new products and product changes. Assemble fixtures, modify and replace components, and test features to solve machine vision challenges Combine software and hardware to integrate with machine vision cameras and related hardware R&D: Test prototypes of LED lighting fixtures and electronics to validate new concepts and technologies Test light fixtures and electronics per‑customer specifications Test diffusers, lenses, and other optical and industrial lighting components Capture camera images and record uniformity and intensity data Conduct research on the latest advancements in LED lighting and machine vision technologies. Identify new materials or techniques that could be used to enhance new or existing products. Optimize lighting systems for various machine vision applications to ensure high performance and reliability. Become a technical resource for internal departments or external end‑users Provide technical support for internal and external end‑users Work with customers and end‑users on quantifying requirements for custom product development Collaborate with the engineering team, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and product managers, to ensure successful project outcomes. Document research findings, design specifications, and test results. Organize and maintain an engineering lab space(s). Other / Travel Occasional travel for important customer site visits, approximately 1-5 days/per year International travel, approximately 5-10 days /per year Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Optoelectronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Desired Experience and Technical Skills: 5 Years experience in an Electrical, Mechanical, or similar/combined engineering field; Electrical focus desired but other disciplines will be considered. Experience with technical documentation: electrical schematics, mechanical drawings and user manuals Experience with LED systems, machine vision and/or optical systems is a plus. Hands‑on skills: building and assembling prototypes, building and modifying mechanical test fixtures. Basic familiarity with some programming languages: C++, Python, or similar Experience with CAD software for designing electronic and mechanical components. Familiarity with machine vision software tools and libraries (e.g., OpenCV). Familiarity with hands‑on PCB soldering, assembly Familiarity with product qualification, and technical documentation Experience with image processing and machine vision algorithms is a plus. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication and with team communication. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
