Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacists with medication preparation, including counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions accurately.
• Manage medication inventory levels, restocking supplies, and ensuring proper storage conditions for all pharmaceutical products.
• Provide excellent patient service by answering questions about over-the-counter medications and guiding patients on medication usage under pharmacist supervision.
• Support the intake process by verifying prescription information, processing refill requests, and updating patient records efficiently.
• Maintain aseptic techniques during sterile compounding procedures such as IV infusion preparation to ensure safety and compliance with health standards.
• Follow all protocols related to LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy settings and critical care environments, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals in hospital or acute care settings to facilitate medication administration and optimize patient outcomes.

Skills

• Strong understanding of medical terminology and pharmacy operations within retail, LTC, or hospital environments.
• Experience with LTC pharmacy practices, IV infusion procedures, and aseptic technique protocols.
• Critical care experience is highly desirable for managing complex medication regimens in acute settings.
• Excellent patient service skills with a focus on patient care, intake procedures, and medication education.
• Proven ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of medication administration processes and pharmacy technician responsibilities across various healthcare settings.
