Employment Type: Full-time, non-exempt, hourly (bi-weekly pay)

Schedule: Five (5) Eight (8) hour shifts | 10:30AM - 7:30PM

Overview:

Glendive Medical Center is seeking a dependable and team-oriented Institution & Cafeteria Cook to join our Dietary Services team. In this role, you will prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals for patients, staff, and visitors while supporting a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment.

What You'll Do:

• Prepare and cook large batches of food according to established menus and portion requirements
• Ensure meals meet dietary, nutritional, and safety guidelines
• Clean, cut, and cook meats, fish, and poultry to appropriate temperatures
• Bake breads, rolls, and pastries
• Portion and serve meals to patients, staff, and visitors
• Oversee and support staff assisting with food preparation and service
• Assist with training new team members
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including equipment, utensils, and work areas
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment
• Maintain accurate food usage and inventory records
• Assist with menu planning and meal preparation decisions
• Follow all sanitation, safety, and food handling regulations
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or vocational training in food service preferred
• Previous cooking or food service experience preferred
• Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification and BLS certification within one year

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed

Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is a full-service, 25-bed acute care hospital with 24-hour emergency care, full medical and surgical services, and an attached 36-bed skilled Extended Care facility.
