How you make a difference The Medication Assistant is an entry-level position that provides support in medication administration and management activities. They work under close supervision to ensure the safe storage, dispensing, and inventory control of pharmaceutical items. Their responsibilities include assisting in routine duties related to medication administration. Key Responsibilities Administering medications to patients in compliance with facility policies, procedures, and regulations, including documentation on the MAR and adhering to infection control principles. Participating in performance improvement activities related to medication administration, including data collection and audits. Maintaining medication cart and supplies, reordering and replacing as needed to perform job responsibilities. Reporting adverse patient reactions to a supervisor immediately and ensuring patient confidentiality and rights are maintained. Adhering to the six rights of medication administration and complying with HIPAA regulations.
