Lead Cardiovascular IR Technologist CentraState Healthcare System, headquartered in Freehold, New Jersey, is a leading non‑profit healthcare delivery system in the state. The new Cardiovascular Interventional Suite integrates leading‑edge imaging and technology to diagnose and treat patients with cardiovascular disease using minimally invasive procedures. The suite’s multidisciplinary team includes Radiologists, Vascular Surgeons, Interventional Cardiologists, Radiology Technologists, and Registered Nurses who collaborate to provide innovative, personalized care. Responsibilities Demonstrates understanding of cardiac and vascular physiology and pathology. Prepares the procedure room and assists the physician during cardiac catheterization, endovascular procedures, or interventional radiology procedures, including coronary or vascular stent placements, balloon angioplasties, endovascular aortic stent grafting, and other IR procedures. Prepares and drapes patients, addresses their questions, and ensures patient comfort. Records and logs procedures, equipment, and devices as required in the medical record. Monitors and records patient hemodynamic status during procedures. Performs cardiac output, O₂ saturation, and ACT (Activated Clotting Time) measurements. Monitors diagnostic cardiac catheterization procedures and intervenes during lethal arrhythmias using ACLS standards when warranted. Identifies cardiac pressure waveforms and informs the interventional cardiologist when applicable. Set up a sterile field and supply necessary equipment for diagnostic cardiac catheterization, peripheral angiography, or other indicated procedures, following all aseptic guidelines. Describes the fundamental steps in a diagnostic heart catheterization or peripheral vascular angiography, monitors patient safety, and can differentiate between PTCA, directional and mechanical rotation atherectomy, as well as use extraction devices such as AngioJet, rotational atherectomy, ShockWave, Penumbra, and laser revascularization devices. Identifies the benefits of supplementing angiographic imaging with intravascular ultrasound, OCT, or CathWorks/FFR/DFR. Operates equipment reliably, complying with departmental standards and safety guidelines. Maintains radiographic equipment, following radiation safety and protection guidelines. Collaborates with physicians, APPs, nurses, and other team members; orient and train new staff as required. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an approved school of radiology. Current cardiac catheterization experience of 1–2 years required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. NJ DEP State license required. ARRT certification required.
