Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical / Surgical

Tryfacta is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical / Surgical for our client in Fort Bliss, TX 79906. This is a temporary contract assignment.

Position Summary: The Medical / Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and comprehensive nursing care to adult patients admitted to WBAMC inpatient units for medical management, pre‐operative stabilization, and post‐operative recovery. This role supports a broad patient population with varying acuity levels and requires strong clinical judgment, care coordination, and adherence to military medical treatment facility (MTF) standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, individualized nursing care using established nursing standards and WBAMC clinical protocols
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and response to treatment; identify and respond to clinical changes
• Administer medications (oral, IV, subcutaneous) and document care accurately in the electronic medical record
• Provide bedside care for medical and post‐surgical patients across a wide range of diagnoses
• Perform clinical procedures including IV initiation, catheterization, wound care, and dressing changes
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Participate in discharge planning and continuity‐of‐care coordination
• Respond to emergent and life‐saving situations in accordance with nursing standards and protocols
• Maintain compliance with infection control, patient safety, and quality standards

Work Profile:

• Schedule: Inpatient rotating shifts based on ward mission; may include Panama or alternating schedules (e.g., 36/44‐hour rotations) ensuring compliance with pay‐period hour limits
• Clinical Environment: Adult medical/surgical inpatient units supporting pre‐op, post‐op, and medical admissions

Minimum Qualifications:

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (U.S. state or territory)
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, BSN, or Diploma)
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient nursing experience, preferably in Medical / Surgical settings
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) system

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a military, VA, or federal medical treatment facility
• Experience managing mixed‐acuity medical and post‐surgical patient populations
• Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
