ITSD-DMH has an opening for a Quality Control Specialist. In this position, you will use your skills to analyze and build test plans, carry out hands on and automated application testing, quantify and qualify test results and communicate outcomes with other team members as well as DMH Business personnel. • The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) supporting the Department of Mental Health (DMH).

Responsibilities - What you'll do

• Create and modify test plans.
• Assist with user acceptance testing.
• Assist with testing of integrations, business rules, data conversions, mobility, performance, security, and more.
• Track defects and log time for all assignments.
• Interact with DMH customers and potentially other stakeholders, such as software developers, DBA's and vendors of DMH services.

Qualifications - All you need for success

• Strong willingness and curiosity to learn about DMH and their operations.
• Excellent verbal communication between peers, management, and stakeholders - basically all levels of the organization.
• An ability to produce written communication that is concise and accurate, also providing context and content tailored to the audience.
• An ability to facilitate meetings and ask the right questions to elicit requirements.
• An ability to actively listen and demonstrate understanding of what is being said.
• An ability to manage conflict.
• Ability to come to a shared understanding of the problem and analyze possible solutions.
• Apply testing techniques to ensure that solutions make it to production with zero or minimal defects.
• Apply analysis techniques to elicit requirements that represent the business need and provide context for that need.
• Familiarity with Web Accessibility, RESTful API design and Cloud platforms from a testing or development perspective is preferred.
• Familiarity with integrating AI technology is a plus.
• Experience with healthcare billing is desirable.
• Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate's name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.

Knowledge of test script development. Ability to gather and interpret data. Ability to conduct load and regression testing and evaluate results.
