Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Howe Elementary School
Reports To: Director of Student Services and Building Principal
Classification: Licensed Professional Staff
Position Summary: The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides specialized instruction and clinical services to elementary students who demonstrate communication disorders. The SLP functions as a critical member of the educational team, managing evaluations, IEP development, and varied service delivery models to ensure student success within the general education curriculum.
Qualifications & Certification Requirements
- Master's Degree: In Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited university.
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL): Valid PEL with an endorsement in Speech-Language Pathology.
- IDFPR License: Current license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
- ASHA Certification: CCC-SLP preferred (CFY candidates supported).
- Compliance: Must pass a fingerprint-based background check and physical exam.

Terms of Employment
Work Year: Standard school calendar as defined by the district.
Salary: Compensation is determined by education and experience as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Refer to the current CBA salary schedule for details.
Benefits: Health, dental, vision, and Illinois TRS contributions per the CBA.
