The custodian, under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations and Maintenance, is responsible for the uninterrupted operation of the school plant, ensuring that standards of comfort, cleanliness, efficiency, sanitation safety and security are met.

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Cleaning and housekeeping experience.
- Ability to do heavy lifting.
- Ability to work cooperatively with staff and students.
- Such alternatives to above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
The custodian, under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations and Maintenance, is responsible for the uninterrupted operation of the school plant, ensuring that standards of comfort, cleanliness, efficiency, sanitation safety and security are met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs normal housekeeping duties.
- Performs outside duties including mowing grass, playground maintenance, snow removal, etc.
- Completes minor repairs and projects, reporting any unusual and/or major repair problems to the Director of Operations and Maintenance.
- Prepares for and maintains buildings during special events.
- Orders custodial materials and supplies from the Director of Operations and Maintenance.
- Remains on the assigned building premises during regularly scheduled hours, unless authorized to leave by the supervisor.
- May be required to assist with bus/traffic control as assigned.
- Regular and timely attendance.
- Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director of Operations and Maintenance.

- Flexible and changing schedule with the possibility of day, night, weekend and/or holiday work.
- Compensation as per the SAESP Collective Bargaining Agreement and District guidelines.
