About the Position

Job Title: RN - CVICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of CVICU experience License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CCRN (preferred) Must-Have: EPIC experience preferred; knowledge of circulatory support methods (IABP, IMPELLA, LVAD, ECMO); titration of vasoactive and antiarrhythmic medications; interpretation of cardiac waveforms; hemodynamic monitoring Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. This unit cares for patients with surgical and medical cardiac conditions. Common diagnoses include post-operative care for CABG, valve replacement/repair, Impella, IABP management, and thoracic aortic aneurysms. Patient care ratios are RN: 1:2 and CNA: 1:20. Support staff includes CNAs for ADLs, vital signs, and transport, as well as a charge nurse in the unit. Phlebotomy services are available, and intensivists are present 24/7. Technology and equipment include EMR systems, IV pumps, and unit-specific equipment like CRRT. Floating may occur within other critical care departments. The work environment is characterized by high acuity and a fast pace. Candidates with CVICU experience who are first-time travelers are welcome to apply.
