About the Role

We are hiring a Patient Access Specialist to support a fast‑paced healthcare operations team. This role focuses on administrative, clerical, and customer support related to patient records, billing documentation, and internal requests.

This is a strong entry‑level opportunity for candidates looking to gain experience in healthcare administration, medical records, and hospital support services .

What You’ll Be Doing

• Process requests for medical records, EOBs, UB‑92 forms, and itemized statements
• Sort, track, and distribute incoming mail and documentation
• Support claims processing and billing documentation workflows
• Manage work queues and complete assigned tasks in internal systems
• Perform general office duties (filing, scanning, indexing, data entry)
• Handle documentation requests from internal and external teams
• Ensure accuracy and timely completion of all tasks

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous administrative, office, or customer service experience
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage workload
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Experience in healthcare or patient access
• Exposure to EPIC or similar systems
• Data entry or 10‑key experience
• Customer service experience in a medical setting

Schedule & Work Environment

• 100% on‑site in Mount Sterling, KY
• Shift options may include:
  • Early shift: 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Day shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Office/healthcare setting with a team‑based environment
• Fast‑paced workflow with high daily volume

Additional Requirements

• Background check required
• Drug screening required
• Pre‑employment health screenings and immunizations may be required

This is a Contract position based out of Mount Sterling, KY.

The pay range for this position is $19.70 - $19.70/hr.
