MRI Technologist

The position exists in the radiology department and involves responsibility for performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures at a technical level in accordance with protocols established by management to facilitate the consistency of results. The work involves reading and interpreting requests from physicians concerning MRI examination techniques, performing MRI scans, including a variety of procedures that require independent judgment and initiative, greeting and explains to patients before and during examinations in order to obtain the required views. An incumbent assumes responsibility for the safe, efficient and proper operation of MRI operating equipment to include proper positioning, technique factors and appropriate use of resources using guidelines and standard procedures as directed by the Radiologist in order to procure the required images. Qualifications: Education: AAS in Radiologic Technology Required#Licensure: NYS license/registration required, ARRT registered in (R) required and ARRT registered in (MR) required within one year, Certification for Contrast Injection required within 30 days required, BLS certification required Salary: $33.78 - $49.35 per hour DOE
