Pediatric Dentist Hawai'i Island Community Health Center (HICHC) – Hawai'i Island, HI Hawai'i Island Community Health Center is seeking a compassionate and patient-focused Pediatric Dentist (DDS or DMD) to provide comprehensive dental care for infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special healthcare needs. The Pediatric Dentist will diagnose and treat oral health conditions, develop treatment plans, perform restorative and preventive procedures, educate patients and families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to support whole-person care. The position also includes mentoring clinical staff and promoting oral health education within the community. Key Responsibilities Provide preventive, diagnostic, restorative, and therapeutic dental services for pediatric patients. Develop and discuss treatment plans with patients and parents, ensuring informed consent. Perform procedures including restorative care, extractions, oral surgery, space maintainers, fluoride treatments, and sealants. Educate children and families on oral hygiene, nutrition, caries prevention, and anticipatory guidance. Collaborate with healthcare providers and make referrals to specialists when appropriate. Supervise and support dental hygienists, assistants, and dental residents. Support HICHC’s Patient-Centered Medical Home model and community health mission. Why Join HICHC? Completion of an accredited Pediatric Dentistry residency program . Current or eligible Hawai?i dental license . Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Dentistry preferred. Passion for serving children, adolescents, and underserved populations.
