Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Surgery

The Registered Nurse in Ambulatory Surgery provides comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who excel in a fast-paced environment and are skilled in patient assessment and care coordination. Highlights Pay: $56 - $77/hour Location: Huntington, NY Facility: Northwell Health Schedule: Full-Time, Evening shift Shift Details: Varied hours, may include weekends and holidays What You'll Do Assess the patient's physiologic health status through interviews and chart reviews. Determine mobility, sensory deficits, and skin condition; adjust care plans as needed. Communicate and document patient's physiologic health status and plan of care. Elicit patient perceptions of care and identify coping mechanisms and cultural needs. Develop criteria for measuring patient outcomes and identify potential problems. Formulate and document the plan of care, collaborating with health team members. Maintain constant vigilance over patient care and ensure safety precautions. Administer prescribed treatments and medications accurately and safely. Provide emotional support and discharge instructions to patients and families. Collaborate with care team members and assist physicians during treatments. Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing; must enroll in an accredited program within 24 months if hired after January 1, 2013, and obtain a BSN within five years. Experience: 2 years minimum Ambulatory Surgery experience required. Documented MED SURG or Critical Care experience required. Pediatric experience required.
