Job Opportunity

Position: Certified Surgical Technician - CVOR

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Certified Surgical Technician to join our team at a healthcare facility in Akron, OH. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of recent experience, with a preference for CVOR experience. The responsibilities will include scrubbing for open heart and vascular surgeries, including wired vascular cases.

Shift Details

Day shift: 4x10 hours (07:00 AM - 5:30 PM)

On-Call Requirements

• 1-2 call shifts on weekdays per week from the end of your shift until 7:00 AM the following morning.
• 1 weekend call shift every 6 weeks (24 hours on Saturday and 24 hours on Sunday).
• 1 working shift on either Saturday or Sunday every 6 weeks, with a focus on coordination with weekend call.
• Potential rotation on holiday call schedule as needed.

Requirements

• AHA BLS certification - must be current.
• Active Ohio license or compact license required at time of submission.
• 18 months of combined permanent experience in the specialty applying for (preferred experience within one location).
• One reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty applying for is required.
• All required certifications must be active and in hand at the time of submission.

Additional Information

Candidates will undergo an ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation, with a requirement to achieve acceptable scores. Candidates are allowed a maximum of 2 attempts to pass.

Background checks will be conducted, and candidates with any open cases will not be accepted. Candidates must be nicotine-free, with a negative 10 panel + nicotine (Cotinine) drug screen required within 12 months prior to starting.

All travelers (excluding nurses and CSTs) must adhere to nicotine-free requirements, although an exemption is currently in place for nurses and CSTs. Candidates who have had previous employment with this healthcare system cannot return within 1 year from their previous end date.
